In a peninsula in the northern coastline of Rio (180km from Rio) , Búzios attracts many Brazilian and foreign visitors by its natural beauties and a unique climate, that combines simplicity and sophistication. Its official name is Armação de Búzios. After 1964, when the French actress Brigitte Bardott spent her vacations in the city, the fishermen village became famous internationally.
There are lots of beaches, with different characteristics (over 27 different beaches) , from the most visited to the almost desert ones, all of them with emerald green ocean and blue sky. Beaches with very charming inns and restaurants that serve elaborated Brazilian and international dishes. By night, Rua das Pedras (Pedras' Street), a real walkway in the city center, is very popular by people searching for fun, shopping, or a nice dinner restaurant. For maritime sports lovers, there are good conditions for practicing surfing, sailing, windsurfing and diving. The city also offers a special attraction to golfers: a field with 18 holes and 7 hundred yards on Búzios Golf Club.
Tours & Sightseeing
TROLLEY TOUR: Pick up at your pousada, on open Trolley (something like a truck with individual seats). It is the best way of knowing the peninsula. The tour will take you to visit 12 different beaches and 2 belvederes, and some of the most beautiful and hardly visited places in Búzios. Time for pictures and for a swim. Include Mineral water and tropical fruit juice on board. Duration: 2hours
FULL DAY ARRAIL DO CABO: Leave Búzios by van to Arraial do Cabo, a nearby town, 45minutes drive, where some of the most beautiful beaches in the region can be seen. Visit the ancient village (downtown) of Arraial do Cabo. A 3hours boat tour, visiting some of the islands (Farol Island).
HALF DAY SCHOONER TOUR: Tour through 12 Beaches and 3 Islands with stop to dive and enjoy the clear waters of Buzios: Armação, Ossos, Azeda, Azedinha, João Fernandes, J. Fernandinho, Branca Island, Feia Island (and beach), Tartaruga, Tartaruguinha, Virgens, Amores, Canto, Caboclo Island. Do not include pick up at the hotels, pax must go to the pier – Armação Beach- to take the tour. |
