LIMA … "CITY OF KINGS"

Was founded in 1535 by the conquistador Francisco Pizarro. In 1988 ,UNESCO declared it a World Cultural Heritage site for its colonial architecture.

The Main Square (Plaza Mayor) house the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral and the Archbishop's house these building are of great architectural richness.. During the night this zone show special lighting to highlight the architectural characteristics of these buildings.

Archaelogical Sites: The Pachacamac Shrine: Four hundred years before the Incas, the Ishmay culture developed a major ceremonial center, featuring streets, dozens of temples fitted with ramps and the Painted Temple, evidence of their urban religious sense. Today this Oracle is an archaeological zone with an on-site museum and natural protected areas. Huaca Pucllana: Archaeological complex of Lima culture, located in the heart of Miraflores, close to hotels, restaurants and tourist zone. Discover Peruvian food while enjoying the view of a 2000 year-old archaeological excavation site.

Palaces, Churches and Museums: Government Palace: This is the seat of the Peruvian government It is located in the Main Square, this majestic presidential palace houses works of carving of immense value. The Gold Museum: Private collection of pre-Inca gold, jewelry and ceremonial Objects. Exhibition of weapons and uniforms.

San Francisco Church: The restored jewel of Lima's old churches. Daily guided visits to the catacombs, colonial library and monastery.

Las Nazarenas Church: Built around the image of the Lord of Miracles, which is paraded through the street of Lima, featuring a month-long religious festival in October.

Lima's Cathedral: Founded in 1535, in honor of Saint John the Evangelist, It is a copy of the Sevilla Cathedral, Spain, but only has three naves. It preserve inside its splendid altars covered in gold leaf and spectacular choir stalls in carved wood.
